Academic Testing & Learning Disability

Comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD-related academic difficulties, and processing disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.

Learning Disability Evaluation

At Advanced Brain Center, we provide comprehensive evaluations to identify learning disabilities and related cognitive or academic challenges that may be interfering with educational, occupational, or daily functioning. Our assessments are designed to clarify an individual’s unique learning profile and provide targeted recommendations to support long-term success.

Learning difficulties can present in many ways, including problems with reading comprehension, written expression, spelling, math, attention, memory, organization, processing speed, or test performance. These challenges may affect children, adolescents, college students, and adults across academic and professional settings.

What We Assess

  • Dyslexia (reading disorder)
  • Dysgraphia (written expression difficulties)
  • Dyscalculia (math disorder)
  • Attention and executive functioning difficulties
  • Processing speed and working memory weaknesses
  • Language-based learning disorders
  • Academic underachievement
  • Giftedness with learning challenges (“twice exceptional” profiles)

Our Evaluation Process

Evaluations typically include a detailed clinical interview, review of educational and medical history, standardized cognitive and academic testing, attention and executive functioning assessment, and emotional/behavioral screening when appropriate.

Following the evaluation, patients receive a comprehensive written report outlining diagnostic impressions, cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and individualized recommendations for school, workplace, or testing accommodations.

Common Reasons for Referral

  • Difficulty keeping up academically despite strong effort
  • Concerns regarding reading, writing, or math skills
  • Possible ADHD or executive functioning deficits
  • Requests for IEP, 504 Plan, or academic accommodations
  • College or graduate school testing accommodations
  • Standardized testing accommodations (SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT)
  • Clarification of cognitive strengths and learning style

Who We Work With
